As a Training provider the vocational college offers full training in a selection of vocational areas, key and functional skills and personal and social development, Health and safety certificates, CSCS Cards and first aid training.
If you can provide the experience and opportunities then we can provide your company with quality Apprentices.
All our learners are 16 -19, keen to work and want to develop skills in their chosen trade.
If you feel your company would benefit one of our learners on placement then all you need to do is provide the placement officer details of your Employer liability insurance.
The placement officer then matches a learner to your company that they feel would be suitable based on your requirements, if you wish to meet a few learners in the college environment before making a decision this can be arranged.
The learner will complete a one week work trial with your company and if you are happy with their attitude, attendance, timekeeping and motivation then they will be placed with you for a 12 week placement gaining experience throughout this period.
The placement officer will continually be on hand to support you as an employer and will help out in whatever way they can to ensure that the learner is meeting your expectations.
At the end of the 12 week period a meeting will take place with the placement officer, the learner and yourself and his performance will be discussed and if you are happy with the learner then it is anticipated that they will be moved on to an apprenticeship or a full time job with you.
If you decide that the learner is suitable for an apprenticeship the placement officer will do all the necessary paper work and find an appropriate apprenticeship programme.
If your company is not in a position to offer a placement, work experience is another option. Work experience is for up to 8 weeks and you would provide a written reference to the learner and again there is no financial obligation to your company.
Learners who enter E2E on sports and occasionally other courses and who will be in posts that involve working with children or vulnerable adults will have a standard CRB check done (this is paid for by the college).
The standard check contains details of all convictions held on the Police National Computer. This is a compulsory document.
As our learners will never be in sole charge of children or vulnerable adults it is unlikely that an enhanced check will be necessary.
