Glazing Department up for awards

The first annual Proskills Apprenticeship Awards were held this year at the Belfry in Birmingham.  Employers and training providers from around the UK gathered to celebrate the success of outstanding apprenticeships.  


Andrew Ghader of Wirral Partnership Homes was awarded Advanced Apprentice of the Year after being nominated by The Vocational College.  Andrew completed his apprenticeship in Production of glass supporting Fabrications at Level 3.

The Apprentice of the Year compromises of an exciting package which can be the career spring board for Andrew marking a future filled with promise. 

In addition to winning up to £500, Andrew received regional and national press coverage which not only promoted his achievements but raises his individual profile.  

In order to receive the Apprentice of the Year Award, candidates must have made an outstanding contribution to their workplace and displayed true commitment to their own personal development. 

There must be evidence of their willingness and ability to take on and initiate new projects and ideas which have made a positive impact on their business as well as evidence of achievement and progress in learning.  Winners of this award will have performed beyond the expectations of their employers and will be an example of true inspiration to others.

Another achievement for the Glazing Department was English Training Provider of the Year 2007 awarded by Glass Training Ltd.  This was an extra special award as the glazing team received this for the second year in succession.
