TVC Staff Training Heralds a major employer partnership
Kawneer's in house training course mapped for successful NVQ delivery
Seven Vocational College glass department assessors undertook a 2 day CPD course on the 15th and 16th June 2011 at Dacre Street, Bootle. Gary Ledger the Training Manager from Kawneer delivered the "Kawneer Installation Certification course (KIC2)" over the 2 days.
In partnership TVC and Kawneer recently restructured the KIC course to map with the new QCF Curtain Wall NVQ, enabling course content to cover the underpinning knowledge requirements in particular. The course agenda included subject matter:
· Health and Safety
· Testing
· Ground Floor Treatments
· Glass and Glazing
· Windows
· Principles of Weather tightness
· Curtain Walling
· Cruciform construction
· Toolbox and Blue box Training
· Installation Manuals
· Questionnaire
A combination of theoretical and practical sessions delivered over the 2 days together with a final test /assessment has enabled and enhanced the assessor’s ability to deliver and assess the Curtain Walling qualification to Kawneer dealerships nationwide.
Each participant will receive attendance /achievement recognition via a KIC photo card.
