Progression & Placements

We have Placement Officers who will give you support in finding work based placements where you can gain experience within a working environment.

Types of placements may be:

  • Retail
  • Glazing
  • Construction
  • Gym based

Food Industry

Placements last around 12 weeks and during this time the Placement Officer is on hand to both the learner and employer for advice and guidance.
Towards the end of the placement the Placement Officer will discuss the next step to progression.

These steps may be Full time employment, apprenticeship with the placement or Further Education(depending on the Qualifications required)

Further education

If you chose to progress to Further Education the Placement Officer will support you by liaising with local Colleges and guiding you through the application process.
Help will be given to develop your CV, interview techniques and building your self esteem.

Employment

If your Placement provider offers employment or you choose alternative employment the Placement Officer will help you to develop a future action plan to further your skills.

Bonuses

When you progress from placement to either Further Education or Employment you are awarded a £50 bonus. Other bonuses are also given when personal targets set at the initial assessment stage are achieved and for reaching goals and targets set by yourself and Tutors at various stages of your Training.
