What is a Traineeship?
Traineeships are designed to help young people who want to get an apprenticeship or job but don’t yet have appropriate skills or experience.
74% of employers cite ‘experience’ as being an important factor when recruiting, but only 38% of young people feel ready for the workplace. Traineeships will provide essential knowledge and experience, making young people more employable and ensuring businesses develop the skilled workforces they need.
Traineeships last anything from 6 weeks up to a maximum of 6 months with the content tailored to the needs of the business and the individual.
What are the benefits?
Traineeships allow you to get ahead of the competition by bringing enthusiastic young people with their fresh ideas into your business before they get on to the job ladder.
A trainee can provide extra support to your existing teams during busy periods.
All Traineeships costs are met by Government funding.
Traineeships will allow you to shape the skills and experience of young people from your local community, helping your business to develop a loyal and talented workforce, whilst supporting the community.
Working with trainees will give established staff members the chance to develop their skills in mentoring and coaching young people.
Traineeships are designed to be as simple as possible for employers and can be tailored to suit the specific needs of individual businesses.
