Financial Support:

The 16-19 Bursary fund is a fund allocated to schools, colleges, and providers to aid learners (who qualify) with their programme of study.

Care to Learn Government overview the Care to Learn scheme can help with childcare costs while you study. You must be aged under 20 at the start of your course. The scheme is available for publically funded courses in England this included courses in schools, training providers, sixth forms and sixth form colleges

Level 1 to 3 Hair and Beauty Courses will be delivered in a fully equipped and working salon at Beauty Lane Training Academy

Level 1

Diploma in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty sector

Learn basic skills for the Beauty industry in preparation for learning at a higher level. This introductory course teaches you the practical and theoretical essentials of topics such as manicures, pedicures, nail art and makeup.

Example Units:

  • Photographic make-up
  • Providing basic manicure treatment
  • Providing basic pedicure treatment
  • Nail art application
  • Salon reception duties
  • Create a Hair & Beauty image

Certificate in Hair and Barbering

This Level 1 qualification is ideal if you’re just starting out in hairdressing and barbering and want an understanding of the industry – enough to succeed in a job in the area or to move on to further study.

Example Units:

  • Prepare for Hair services and maintain work areas.
  • Contribute to the development of effective working relationship
  • Blow dry hair
  • Shampoo and condition hair
  • Assist with colouring and lightening services
  • Plaits and twists using basic techniques

Level 2

NVQ Diploma in Beauty Services

Learn basic skills for the Beauty industry in preparation for learning at a higher level. This introductory course teaches you the practical and theoretical essentials of topics such as manicures, pedicures, nail art and makeup.

Example Units:

  • Provide facial skincare
  • Apply make-up
  • Client care
  • Shaping and colouring eyebrows
  • Provide manicure and pedicure treatments

Level 3

NVQ Diploma in Therapy Treatments

Learn advanced skills for employment in the Beauty industry. This Level 3 course gives you a wide range of specific skills in treatments, massage and also focuses on what employment opportunities there are in the industry.

Example Units:

  • Working in Beauty related industries
  • Provide facial electrotherapy treatments
  • Provide body electrotherapy treatments
  • Provide body massage
  • Provide Indian head massage
  • Nail enhancements and techniques

Level 3

Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy

This Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy prepares you for a high level of employment within the industry. This course focuses on the science behind treatments, as well as looking at management duties and advanced therapy techniques.

• Dermatology and microbiology
• Hair removal treatments
• Skin care treatments
• Salon management
• Chemistry of hair and beauty products

Maths and English

As part of Government requirements, you must study Maths and English up to GCSE grade C standard. If you have already achieved this, you will not be required to do so again.

Our Tutors offer a fresh and inventive approach to delivering Maths and English. They look to teach according to your learning styles in fun and interactive ways to ensure that you enjoy the course and ultimately, gain your qualifications.

ICT and PSD

As we are a training provider who specialise in vocational training, we make a real effort to ensure our learners are ready to enter the world of employment when they leave us. For this reason, we require that you do study ICT and PSD with us.

The PSD qualification covers topics such as: how to write CV’s, how to act professionally in the workplace and how to approach interviews.

The ICT qualification cover skills like: File Management, IT Security, Email, The Internet, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases. Learners will use the full Microsoft Office suite.
